Caring for Claire
Apr. 3rd, 2005 05:06 pmBound: that's an unexpected wrench.
Bill doesn't let his arm leave Claire's shoulder the whole walk up the stair and down the hall. The door to his room opens and he directs her to the bed. "I promise to be a perfect gentleman, Claire. We want you to feel better. I don't like to see you in distress. Now..."
With a point of his wand towards the window, the curtains close; the light comes on but not in full force. He pulls up a chair next to the bed and sits, watching her. "Tell me what I can do for you. Is there anyone else downstairs you'd like me to summon?" His voice is soothing and calm; he watches her with a pleasant smile on his face.
Because when a strong person is robbed of what gives her strength, it's time for someone else to provide it to her.
